Afghanistan: Holy War 1982-1989

This is a strategic scenario that covers the soviet occupation of Afghanistan from 1979-1989. The soviet occupiying forces together with Afghani government forces fight against various guerilla movements with some support from outside powers.

  • Players: 2
  • AI: Not capable or at best semi capable.
  • Engine: AT.
  • Events: A lot of events. Major political elements. Include rules for provincial and major city uprisings, propaganda, Jihad, Soviet-Afghan treaties, Hezbollah involvment, sabotage action, military coups, intelligence operations, CIA involvement and stinger missiles, weather, opium harvests, intrusion into Pakistan and/or Iran, The Sarandoy militia, 10+ different peoples, 18 provinces
  • Production: Generally conventional production through locations.
  • Scale: Map size is 194*154. Units are generally at battalion scale with Regimental or Divisional HQs. Each round represents 1 month. The scenario starts in february 1982.
  • Availability: Through donation.
